THE 'LAST MINUTE' STRATEGY-I

Hello Readers. How are your preparations  for your upcoming BOARD Exams going on?? Are you feeling a bit tensed or the excitement of Boards has still not got into you?? Are you working very hard but still,  unsure about your preparations?? Well, it’s high time you start working smart….

Undoubtedly, working hard matters but at this moment, there is not much time left to throw your hands and legs at everything. It’s definitely not possible to read the entire ‘Bhagwad Gita’ in one go!! Infact, thinking of doing so might harm you badly. You need to know the best for you and keep yourself restricted to fewer things only.

The time has come when your 12 hardworking years will be evaluated by this one month performance. So, work as hard as you can ( Obviously, giving proper time to sleep and diet) but again, it is not all about what you know but how you present that matters a lot!! I am about to share some of the strategies from my own experience. So, here I go….

ENGLISH-The Percentage Breakdown

·         If you dream of scoring above 97% in BOARDS then, this is one big hurdle you need to cross.
·         Seemingly easy, but you can easily lose a percentage or two !!
·         Strictly follow word limit in Literature Section because writing more does not fetch you more marks but eventually, you lose a lot of time.
·         Give proper time to Reading Section. Don’t worry even if it takes more than an hour!! Try to cover it up in Literature Section.
·         Writing Skills Section is the most important of them all. Before you just begin writing, think for a proper structure. Use some good quotations in the beginning and end.
·         Don’t focus much on vocabulary!! Just try to use simple, effective and correct English that is easily understandable!!

Tip: Managing time should be your utmost priority.

PHYSICS-The Conceptual Mystery

·         It is one such subject in which scoring high is easy in case, you are conceptually sound.
·         Solve as many questions as you can especially, for BOOK-I.
·         Don’t ignore the last two chapters of Book-II as they are equally weighed ( I would recommend NCERT for these chapters).
·         For the theoretical chapters, even solving all the questions given in ARIHANT Prev. Yr. Chap. Soln. will do.
·         More than your presentation, the content you write matters a lot.
·         Be selective in solving questions as some of the questions given in NCERT do not hold any value( as far as BOARDS are concerned).
·         Do not leave any question!! Even if you are not sure about the answer, write whatever you feel is most appropriate. Even writing a formula might fetch you some marks.

Tip: Sincerely solving questions from Arihant Prev. Yr. Chap. Soln. Book might turn fortunes your way.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION-The Theoretical Secret

·         If you dream of scoring high percentage then, this is one such subject at your rescue!!
·         Sincerely studying it for even two days might do wonders.
·         Focus as much on presentation as on content.
·         Being it your last exam of school life, give your 200 % while writing it!!
·         Make Tree-Diagram for most of the questions( I used Tree-Diagram for 80% of questions) and then, elaborate each point used in that Tree-Diagram.
·         Do not leave any question!!

Tip: Managing time ( incase, you are making tree-diagram for each question) is important.

P.S.—I will be sharing more about the other subjects in my next blog. Feel free to ask any query related to subjects mentioned in this blog by commenting below.

My Struggling Phase

Hello Readers. What do you think is better—“The Virtual World” or “The Reality”??How does one feel when he gets out of his “Utopian World” and faces the “Real Challenge”?? Those days are still fresh in my mind when I experienced the “Real JEE Pressure”. It was never the competitive pressure but the pressure of expectations—expectations from teachers, relatives, parents and from my own brother and sister who dreamt of seeing me as “Headlines” in the newspapers!!

Things went pretty well till class 10th and I had almost become a star in my city. I decided to continue with PAARTH Institute ( in Mathura) for my JEE preparations and started with a bang!! I probably was the lone lion in the jungle and kept scoring way too high in all the tests and was enjoying my own “Utopian World”, far away from reality, far away from good competition.  But, then came the second turning point of my life.

It was 8th of December, probably 9 in the morning. My friend, Ayush ( currently studying in IIT Delhi), called me and said in a humourous tone-“Dude, PAARTH Institute is no more. There is some news that the Faculty disappeared overnight.” I was muddled, confused and shocked!! I was left with no other choice but to join JK’s Institute (the only left Coaching Institute in Mathura) which actually turned out to be ‘Blessing in Disguise’….

The first day I entered  JK’s( 18th December), I was terrified seeing the competition there. I realized that I was way too behind and  was unaware of many concepts which had already been tought to them in the beginning which meant I was supposed to finish the syllabus for 11th and 12th in just one year. That fear started overpowering me!!

I was terribly depressed!! It was 12th of February when I shouted at my Mom ( She was asking me to have breakfast again and again while I was studying) for the first and definitely the last time. That incident was a warning signal that I was losing my control. I finally decided that I will prove myself no matter how much efforts I need to put in and sincerely tried all I could. But, it was not just about my efforts, it was the affection and moral support I got from my parents and teachers. Thankfully, I had my parents’ complete support during that phase of my life. Then, I never looked behind and soon proved my worth and fulfilled my brother’s and sister’s dream an year and half later!!!

When I look into my past, I realize that they were the expectations that kept motivating me to work harder and harder and prove my worth!! I would like to quote the words which have always been inspiring me all through my struggle-“ It’s easy to get on the top. But, it requires skills and character to keep you there!!”

P.S. —I will be sharing  'The Last Minute '  strategy for each subject (from my own experiences) for the Board taking students in my next blog. I would love to hear suggestions from those who took their Board Examinations recently ( before I post my next blog ) . So, whosoever wishes to share his experiences can comment below.

'Suicide'- Solution to depression???

Hello Readers. How much do you love yourself??How much do you love your parents, your family??Have you ever been in a state of depression??Have you ever thought of harming yourself??

I almost jumped out of my skin while talking to one of my old friends ( currently studying in KOTA ) a couple of days ago!! He revealed to me the ‘DARK’ unknown phase of student’s life in KOTA, the pressure they all go through during these years and the ‘WORST’ solution ( SUICIDE ) they choose to get rid of all such troubles. Indeed, it didn’t take me even seconds to  understand the ‘REASON’ behind it….

I have always been lucky to have my parents ( my strength) beside me all through my hardships, success and failure. But, some unlucky ones have to leave their homes and family and spend the most crucial years of their lives all alone in a strange place. Understandably, they live in their own world of burdens of expectations. And the unluckiest ones get stuck into it!!!

We need to understand that we are not  ‘Money-Investment’ for our parents. Neither do they expect us to be the best in the world ( because we already are). We are their loved ones and will always be. They just expect us to do our best. They are least bothered even if we lose in the ‘Battle of Academics’. But they are the ‘Real losers’ if we lose in the ‘Battle of life’ because then, they lose their priceless ornaments i.e. “US”. It may take seconds for us to get rid of all worldly troubles by committing suicide but, it may take years ( or may be entire life ) for them to get rid  of depression we gave to them!!

Was it their fault for loving us so much??Was it their fault for considering us as their ‘Real World’??Do they really deserve this distress in return of their ‘unconditional’ love and care??Just give yourself a minute from your busy schedule and think about all these questions, think about your parents before you even dare to think of harming yourself…..

P.S.—Life was never a cake-walk for me either. A time came when I started considering myself as ‘Loser’. But then, I had the most powerful weapons who helped me in proving myself wrong. I will be sharing more about it in my next blog.

'NTSE'-- The Turning Point

Hello Readers. How often we  hear our parents , teachers and our well wishers saying—“ Failures are the stepping stones to success”. But, do we ever give a thought to it??Hmm..I ,too, was one among them, until then. But the day came and things started changing.

A real transformation did come from a boy who was not even sure of doing something good even in  his own city ( Mathura ) to a boy who started dreaming of getting an AIR under 100 in JEE, from a boy who used to dream of being first in his class to one who started dreaming of being first in his state, from a boy who used to feel low about himself  to one who started setting high standards for himself. The NTSE ( in class 8th) turned out to be that life changing event.

The words of Late Dr. Kalam-“ Be Unique. Be Remembered.”- used to echo inside my head day and night but, never got answer to it. It seemed as if the entire world was trying to pull me into that-‘ Just Everybody’  zone. But soon, got answers to all my questions. The treatment and encouragement I started getting from my friends and teachers, especially Mrs. Rajni Nautiyal  ( my first and forever Guide)  just by clearing NTSE-Level 1 gave birth to a new ‘ME’. I got the answer to-“What I will be remembered for?". I worked as hard as I could to succeed but finally could not cross the line ( NTSE-Level2). But indeed, I got to know the battle I was supposed to fight for the next four years and the solution of being the ‘Unique Me’.Then came the golden phase of my life .

Being in full confidence, I had probably acquired the ‘Midas Touch’. Thanks to Indian Government for conducting NTSE in class 10th as well when I left no stone unturned and finally became the ‘NTSE Scholar’. That incident taught me the importance of failure. It simply depends on how you take it.Had that Exam not come into my life, I might have not even made to BITS Pilani writing a blog and sharing my experiences!!!

P.S.: Feel free to clarify your doubts related to NTSE or to know more about it. Keep following my blogs for more information.
