The New 'KICK' in LIFE

Hello Readers. I know I had been focusing too much on Academics in my previous few posts. But, this one is definitely out of that league!! After my college life began last year, I had probably gone into some other mode. The word ‘LITE’( lingo @ BITS ) had become part of my personality. Though things were going well, but then, life had probably become monotonous. There was no ‘KICK’ left in life. Days passed by and so did the first semester.

In the second semester, I was desperate enough to bring my life on track. Thankfully, few things came into my life at right time or rather, I brought them into my life!! It felt as if the ‘NEW KICK’ had come into life. Along with blogging and few other things, poem writing was one of them.

Though I had always been passionate about writing poems ( in English) in my school days,  but the Surprising Start ( 8 weeks ago)  of writing poems in Hindi turned out pretty well for me. After a lot of encouragement by my friends, I thought of sharing one with you. So, here I go……

How to go about for JEE-MAINS 2016???

Hello Readers. How are you going on with your preparations for JEE MAINS 2016?? Well, almost 10 months before, you took a decision to take a drop and invest an year to get into some reputed college and ‘THE DAY’ is not far away when you will participate in a battle to prove  your decision right. After 10 months of extreme hardwork and whole-hearted dedication to crack JEE , the period of great confusion and anxiousness is probably knocking your doors.

‘JEE PRESSURE’ might have started overpowering you but more than just to cope up with  ‘JEE PRESSURE’, the bigger challenge lies in making the most out of remaining few days and proper ‘Revision Strategy’ for such vast syllabus of  JEE!!! Indeed, you must be muddled about how to prioritize between ‘problem solving’ and ‘notes revision’. Though I never experienced this phase ( since I didn’t choose to drop ), but my journey was no different. Indeed ‘notes revision' is important, but you can’t simply ignore ‘problem solving’ as that’s what you are supposed to do during those 3 hours of ‘THE DAY’.

With hardly 20 days left for the EXAM, you need to make the most of each remaining day and make each remaining hour count!!! So, here I am sharing ‘Revision Strategy’ for JEE MAINS  for the remaining few days….

MARCH 13-MARCH 20

·         Devote this phase for Notes Revision.
·         Make sure you have revised the entire syllabus and have not left any stone unturned.
·         Make sure you don’t completely get out of touch with problem solving.
·          If your notes contain some good questions, do solve them as part of revision. Otherwise, do solve atleast 15 questions(  better if you solve questions from MAINS 2000, MAINS 2001 and so on ) each of Physics and Maths every day so as  not to get completely out of touch with problem solving.
·         Write all the formulae, equations, logics or data which you keep forgetting or you find a bit more important in some notebook ( you can use it on the last day for revision ).
·         Do not solve any sample paper during this phase!!! It’s always better to first get completely equipped with arms and ammunitions and then, go for the battle….

MARCH 21-MARCH 30

·         Being equipped with all arms, you are ready to fight one battle each day!! Solve one sample paper each day ( better if you solve from 10-01 in the morning hours ). Solve it seriously but make sure the sample paper you are solving is not previous year JEE MAINS paper!!
·         Use it as a measure of self-evaluation. Make a note of questions you could not answer correctly and give a go through your ‘JEE NOTES’ to revise concept you could not decipher in those questions. This way you will not get out of touch with ‘notes revision’ as well!!!
·         Make proper analysis of each sample paper solved. Try to know your weaker points and try to bring some increase in your score by each passing day.
·         Solve previous year JEE MAINS questions as a part of problem solving in the remaining part of the day and give a go through your ‘JEE NOTES’ for questions you could not crack.
·         Do not go for solving very advanced problems. It’s time to revise your already developed concepts rather than developing new ones!!!
·         You can also go through some previously solved questions, your sheets and other materials as a part of problem solving in the remaining time.
·         Meanwhile, keep editing the notebook made during phase 1.

MARCH 31- APRIL2

·         Well, you are almost done with most of the things by now. Just keep yourself motivated and feel high about yourself.
·         Solve some recent JEE MAINS question papers to boost up your self-confidence.
·         Just keep things simple. Don’t bother too much about revision again and again!!!
·         Make proper use of important point notebook made during phases-I and II. Revise it properly atleast two times ( or even more ).
·         So, you must have been developed  into a dynamite by now ready to explode anytime...

APRIL 3

·         TIME TO EXPLODE!!!!

P.S.—I have thought of introducing something new into my blogs on my friends’ recommendations. I will be sharing more about it in my next blog. If my blog helped you in anyway, do hit the G+1 button below to recommend my blog on GOOGLE. Feel free to ask any query by commenting below.

THE 'LAST MINUTE' STRATEGY-II

Hello Readers. How are you going on with your examinations ( incase, you are my junior )?? This ‘Examination Month’ is indisputably the most important month for all but when it comes to Board taking students,  it gets some more value added to it. If you are currently taking your Board Examinations this month  then, you are probably done with English and Physics and Chemistry is next to go!!

Hopefully, the above mentioned examinations went pretty well and my suggestions added some value to your preparations. Even if they didn’t go as expected, the battle is not over yet!! You still have ample amount of chances to make the remaining 60%  count. Don’t lose hope and keep working as hard as before (or even more). Just try to make those 12 hardworking schooling years count. Studying for 3 or 4 more hours than usual won’t make you ill but may eventually help in fulfilling your will.

Don’t allow yourself to regret in future. It’s all about 18 more days!! Do the best you can and give your best shot at it. Well, I guess I am done with my so-called ‘Philosopher’s  Talk’ for today. Now, let me share some of the ‘Last-minute strategies’ for the remaining subjects. So, here I go….

CHEMISTRY--The Unnecessary Hype

·         As the sub-title suggests, this subject is over-rated due to it’s excessive syllabus!!
·         Not only it is easy to score, questions asked are not tough either.
·         Unarguably, NCERT is the ‘GOD BOOK’ in Chemistry but if time doesn’t permit, atleast  give a go through NCERT for chapters of BOOK-I.
·         Do not panic about Inorganic Chemistry. Even going through previous year questions ( better if you solve ARIHANT Prev. Yr. Chap. Soln.) will do.
·         Name Reactions in ORGANIC Chemistry must be at your tips.
·         Do not forget to mention reaction conditions (wherever possible) in each organic reaction!!
·         While writing structures of Organic Compounds, do mention it’s general or chemical name (if possible).
·         Time is never a cause of worry. So, keep your calm, read each question properly and answer in the best way possible but make sure you don’t mention the entire family bio-data while they asked just your name!!!

Tip: Give proper time in reading the questions and make sure you do not miss out any twist or turn in the questions.

MATHEMATICS—The Silly Calculations

·         Well, I made one silly calculation mistake ( -2 – (-3)=-5 in finding determinant ) which wasted my 35 valuable minutes during exam and eventually cost me 5 marks thereby, decreasing my percentage by 1!!
·         So, make sure you don’t get stuck to any question. Don’t take any question on your ‘EGO’!! Learn to leave and save your time. You can definitely come back onto the same question if time permits.
·         Be cautious while doing calculations especially in MATRICES AND DETERMINANTS.
·         Practice , Practice and Practice. During the period of preparation leave, don’t just look at the question and solve it in mind. Make use of pen and paper!!!
·         All formulae must be at your tips, especially those related to integration and differentiation.
·         Do not leave any question unattempted. Write the formulae, wherever possible.
·         Do solve all the Solved Examples given in NCERT. If already solved, solve once again for practice.
·         Do not run behind too many sources for practice. Keep things simple. Solving previous year questions may definitely help.
·         Try and solve atleast two sample papers keeping an eye on time to completely prepare yourself for the ‘Battleground’!!

Tip: Do not waste too much time on one particular question and make sure you are not running out of time. Don’t think too much about scoring 100!! Just try to give your best.

P.S.—With JEE-MAINS at the corner, many aspirants especially, droppers must be confused how to go about from now, how to manage such vast syllabus and the best ‘Revision Strategy’. So, I will be sharing ‘Revision Strategy For Droppers’ in my next blog. Feel free to ask any query related to subjects mentioned in this blog by commenting below.
