Hello Readers. THE MONTH is about to begin……Yeah, U got me
correct. The most crucial month for all those taking their Board Examinations
is on the verge of getting started and most of U must be muddled and anxious to
extract the most out of it. And the ones preparing for JEE, thinking deeply
about how to balance their ships…………….
Well, before I begin, let me introduce myself. I am Lohit Gupta, a BITSian pursuing BE( hons ) in Computer Science in Pilani Campus, did decently in Board Examinations ( 98.0% in CBSE 2015 ) , got an AIR 78 in JEE Mains 2015 and made the hell out of JEE Advanced Paper-II. Well, it would be another cracker to share in my upcoming blogs!!!!
Never thought of beginning with this as my first blog. But, since, time demands and moreover- the best one for U at this juncture, I thought of writing it. Friends, it doesn’t matter how U spent your last two years , how much efforts U put in ( obviously it does, if U went out of touch ) ---but, this is your future deciding month. Keep yourself motivated and start giving your 200% ( in case u were already giving 100% ). Eat healthy and 8 hours of sleep everyday is must………….
Now a million dollar question arises- how to go about it??? How to hit the bull’s eye??? At this moment, U must be very careful about what to study and what not to…………

DO’s:
1. Improve upon your presentation ( Matters a lot especially in English and Physical Education )2. Improve your writing skills ( For this, U can learn several quotations and good sentences which U can always use to enhance your writing skills )
3. Solve Arihant’s Previous Yr. Chapterwise Soln ( Atleast in Physics and Chemistry--Especially, for those targeting JEE—since, U hardly would have got any practice related to Boards ).
4. Solve as many questions as U can, atleast 60 per day in PCM along with an eye on Boards( For JEE Aspirants ).
5. Solve Sample Papers of JEE Mains atleast once in two days.It will definitely bring a visible change in your performance ( For JEE Aspirants ).
6. Keep your calm and try to focus more on Self-study this month. It’s prime time to improve upon your concepts which nobody else but, you, yourself can do.
If anyone of U is very pessimistic about his/her JEE preparations--- I have got the best cure to it at this juncture. Though one of the most unorthodox cures, Pick up any refresher ( Better if U pick up Pradeep ) and solve questions marked as “ Competitive Questions “ given at the end of each chapter. If U feel there is lack of time, Solve for only those chapters U are least confident at………..Believe me, it will work!!!!!!
DONT’S:
1. Don’t dare to neglect Writing skills. English and Physical Education play major role in taking U over the 97% mark. But ,unfortunately, most of U neglect it.2. Don’t pick up any extra book to read. It’s time to revise earlier learnt concepts rather than learning new things.
3. Don’t focus much on theory especially in Physics. It will not do any good to U. (For JEE Aspirants).
4. Don’t neglect NCERT book for Chemistry. It definitely is the GOD book in Chemistry and if U do it well, U are definitely going to hit in JEE Mains ( For JEE Aspirants ).
Have faith in yourself. U are one of your kind. Trust yourself, keep yourself motivated, give all U can this month and U may see yourself in your Dream college few months from now. Focus more on self study and may u hit the bull’s eye!!!!!
Plse give me some tips for jeemain...how to get 180+ in mains ....I have only 2 months left fr mains...physics is my weak portion....bt chemistery nd Maths are good.... Thanks in advance.
ReplyDeleteIf U feel a bit diffident at physics, i would suggest U to strenthen your hands at those chapters which U find a bit easy nd don't think much about chapters which are really going above your head. Since U have already set 180+ as your target, it would be better if you focus a bit more at your strenths. As per my view, do not pick up any new book to solve . Just revise previously learnt things.
DeleteThanks a lot fr ur valuable suggestions..bt I am very tensed...about my performance in exam....I study a lot,bt I always forget almost all that I've studied..what should I do..help me....

ReplyDeleteAs I said, U first need to calm. Make some strategy and work accordingly. Do revise things every weekend. Don't do anything but revising and solving few questions( about 20) ON WEEKENDS. That will definitely work.
ReplyDeletepreparing for bitsat...... organic chemistry from ncert is enough ...because orangic chemisrty is volatile and cant remember all reaction and how to study oranic chemisrty give me tips
ReplyDeleteYou can write the reactions to specific chapters separately and then, must give them a go through for 10 minutes everyday. This way it won't seem cumbursome and U will b done with it. Talking about BITSAT, it would b gr8 if U also solve questions given at the back of each chapter in NCERT,especially, the synthesis reactions. Also to gain confidence, U can try out competitive questions given in Pradeep.
ReplyDeletehello bhiya. i am a very average student in a narayana college. My knowledge in my opinion is average. my sir said i will be able to score around 150-160 in mains easily and the rest depends on me. but i am not interested in mains. i want to do computer science in bits pilani which i know is very tough. Is it possible for me to do so? If so how? PS I Know You probably are bored of people asking you if they can still make it. But i hope you find the patience in you to help me out. Thankyou for your time.
ReplyDeleteIf U really feel U can score 150+ in Mains at yr present situation, Believe me--U hv got very gud chances in making to BITS Pilani in case U head towards the right path in upcoming 3 to 4 months. U just need to motivate yrself and start solving the BITSAT book by ARIHANT immediately [ Incase U are taking Boards Exams, solve it in the month of April]. No doubt 150+ is not enough, but U hv definitely got enough time after Boards. Just follow some of the guidance I mentioned in the blog. Hopefully, it will work. And don't think much about discipline. Just keep going........
ReplyDeleteBhaiya tell us about what to do in february for boards. Is solving sample papers(only numerical problems) enough?
ReplyDeleteSorry for replying a bit late. I feel solving numerical problems will be more beneficial at this moment. But, keep reading some good articles and quotations. And don't underestimate the theoretical concepts asked in Physics. And yes....at this juncture- nothing better than sample papers!!
DeleteThanks bhaiya.Keep guiding us!!
DeleteYeah, will try my best doing so.
Deleteyeah yeah

ReplyDeleteHello bhaiya this is Anmol Agrawal from jks coaching
ReplyDeleteI have done 4 papers of previous year jee mains and my average score is 160.
I am doing pretty well in chemistry and maths .
Can you plz. Suggest me some tips for physics at this moment.
Also plz let me know if i can take some furthur actions to increase my mains score....
If you are doing good at Maths and Chemistry and Physics is your only worry, then it would be better if you first strngthen those chapters you are confident at instead of running at tougher ones because at the end of the day, almost all chapters contain equal weightage. Seeing the previous trend, devoting more time to easy chapters like Modern Physics might turn useful as it would be like less input but more output. I won't suggest you to start with some new book due to lack of time. Just keep practising more and more questions and feel confident!!
